Villa Matakia Naxos

Nestled in the lush valley of Ano Potamia, where history converges with the untouched nature of Naxos, Villa Matakia offers a stay defined by elegance and heritage. This imposing mansion, originally built in 1920, has been meticulously restored to honor traditional Cycladic architecture while seamlessly integrating modern comforts. The estate is embraced by a private sanctuary of verdant orchards, running waters, and ancient plane trees. Comprising two independent, fully-equipped residences that can accommodate 4 to 8 guests, it provides the perfect secluded retreat for families or groups seeking authenticity and serenity away from the island's bustling crowds. The location of Villa Matakia serves as a gateway to the island’s rich past. From the Venetian influences and Byzantine landmarks, such as the 10th-century church of Agios Mamas, to the archaic statue of "Kore" and the scenic trails leading to the majestic Upper Castle (Epano Kastro), every path offers a profound connection to Aegean culture. At Villa Matakia, we believe that the most beautiful moments are those shared with the entire family. For this reason, our property is pet-friendly 🐾, warmly welcoming your four-legged friends. The spacious orchard and the lush paths of Potamia create the ideal environment for exploration and freedom, both for you and your beloved pets. Here luxury is redefined through the tranquility of the landscape and the warmth of genuine Naxian hospitality. It is a destination curated for those who appreciate history, nature, and the art of slow living in a setting of unparalleled beauty.
